The taggies ‘tag-ball’ is a stimulating soft toy which can be carried with you where ever you go as a source of entertainment and amusement for your baby. The range of different toys have tags attached of various shapes, designs and colours to keep your baby interested and entertained.
The tags are made of a range of materials to help develop your baby’s tactile sense and the size of the tags teach your baby how to grasp ‘fine’ objects, thus allowing them to learn how to differentiate between objects requiring gross or fine motor control. I found that the tag ball helped to teach my daughter to grasp fine objects using her fingers only rather than her whole hand. The tagball also acts as a cause and effect learning tool as it has a bell that sounds out when shaken, my daughter was very pleased with herself when she found this out!
What initially attracted me to buy the tagball for my daughter was that she would always seek out the tags in her other toys and play with them rather than the toy itself, so I figured why not a toy made of tags! She appears to love the softness of the tags and spent alot of time sliding them between her fingers.
As my daughter gets older the capabilities of the tag ball are not sufficient to keep her interested for long stretches of time, making the tagball more suitable to an early learning age group of around 0-6 months.
An additional feature is that it has a clip which can also allow it to be attached to a car seat, pram, or the like.
I would certainly continue purchasing taggies products for my baby, providing more age specific toys are available as the tagball was a big favorite of Eve’s when she was a younger.
Tagballs can be purchased from Kids Central at Westfield Kotara where they range in price from $14.99 for a small ball to clip onto your stroller to $39.99 for a large tagball for playing with at home. Kids Central also has a very large range of other Taggies products while Babies Galore has a limited selection of Taggies products.
